Ian Mowat
Ensemble
Ian trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and was soon playing Annas in Jesus Christ Superstar on a tour of Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Belgium. In London he appeared in South Pacific at the Prince of Wales Theatre, The Mandate at The Bloomsbury Theatre, and March of the Falsettos at the Soho Poly Theatre Club.
Other work includes seasons at Theatr Clywd, Cleveland Theatre Company, Queens Hornchurch, The Wolsey Ipswich, Haymarket Leicester, The Theatre Royal Northampton and the Theatre Royal Plymouth performing in South Pacific, Godspell, The Recruiting Officer, Frederic in Pirates of Penzance, Happy in Death of a Salesman, Eric in Privates on Parade, Ghost of Christmas Past in A Christmas Carol, Oklahoma! Prince in Beauty and the Beast, Hareton Earnshaw in Wuthering Heights at the Old Fire Station Oxford.
Also in London Ian was in the Lost Musicals season at the Barbican in A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, and By Jupiter! He played Pirelli in Sweeney Todd at the Bridewell and was in the premiere of Killing Rasputin also at the Bridewell. Ian has appeared in the National Tours of Oklahoma! and Evita. He took part in the premiere of Poe at Abbey Road Studios and has performed in Qatar for The Duke and Duchess of Wessex in concert.
Ian has performed his solo cabaret at Jermyn Street Theatre, Lauderdale House and The Dulwich Picture Gallery, and has been producing seasons of cabaret, he produced an eleven week season at the Dulwich Picture Gallery London, and has produced two seasons at Belair House in Dulwich and produced a highly successful eleven week season at the Riverwalk Restaurant in the Oxo Tower on the Thames.
In 2005 he co-produced Tonight-Lola Blau, at the New End Hampstead. In between acting he stays off the streets by marketing for a bunch of City Bankers (and that’s not rhyming slang) and is ‘Ooooh so pleased’ to be in Acorn Antiques.
